Welcome Message by Convener
Prof. Ziad Sophie
Dear Colleagues,
It is a pleasure to invite you to the 2nd Annual Conference of Society of Vascular Surgery Pakistan in karachi, scheduled to be held from September 18th to 20th, 2025, at SIUT Karachi.
This conference will bring together vascular and endo vascular surgeons, trainees, physicians, nurses, and paramedical staff to share knowledge and expertise in vascular surgery. The theme, "Education and Training in Vascular Surgery," promises insightful discussions and learning opportunities.
Looking forward to your participation!
Message from the Scientific Committee Chair
Dr. Zia Ur Rehman
It is my profound privilege to welcome you all to the 2nd PAK VESCON, the flagship annual conference of the Pakistan Society of Vascular Surgery (PSVS). This year's meeting holds special significance as we mark nearly a decade of progress in the development of vascular and endovascular surgery in Pakistan. Vascular Surgery was recognised by College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan as a separate speciality leading to FCPS in 2015.
Set against the backdrop of rapid advancements and growing clinical demand, the theme of this year’s conference – Education and Training in Vascular Surgery – could not be more timely. As the field continues to evolve, our collective focus must remain on building capacity, fostering technical excellence, and shaping the next generation of vascular surgeons.
We are honored to host a distinguished panel of national and international faculty, whose participation underscores the rising stature of Pakistan’s vascular surgery community on the global stage. Their presence provides an invaluable opportunity for our trainees and early-career surgeons to engage in meaningful academic exchange, gain mentorship, and stay abreast of global best practices.
The three-day scientific program is complemented by a series of hands-on pre-conference workshops, carefully curated to deliver practical learning experiences in areas such as vascular access, imaging, open and endovascular techniques, and simulation-based skills training.
I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all contributors – speakers, panelists, workshop facilitators, and attendees – for their commitment to the cause of vascular education in our region. Let us make this conference not just a celebration of knowledge, but a catalyst for enduring collaborations and surgical excellence.
We look forward to welcoming you to this landmark event.
